Our new ceramic Merino Beaded Cake Stand achieves its antique look from a technique
called crackling--a decorative glazing method that leaves the tell-tale
spiderweb cracks in the the surface enamel that we associate with our great
grandmother's china. Don't worry--the technique is only cosmetic and does not
effect the pieces's structural integrity. The soft grey color lends an
old-fashioned farmhouse feel.
