Oh joy! Our carrot crop is looking yummy. Can't wait for cozy fall stews and down-to-earth side dishes made with this healthy veggie. I'm hopeful that it does a bit of good for me ol' eyes, too.

That picture brings back a lot of memories. When I was a child, we had a huge garden along with some greenhouses. I used to love to pull carrots and raddishes out of the ground. Then I'd take them this this abandoned, old guest house (used for years as a shed) and "cook" on the old BBQ grill we had.

Seems I always forgot to discard the vegetables or bring them to my family afterwards. My parents would find them weeks later in paper bags, asking what the horrible smell was and of course finding rotten veggies in the bag.

That is one of my favorite childhood memories though.
